Who should avoid or modify laughter therapy sessions?

Most people can participate comfortably, but you should consult a clinician and/or modify intensity if you have recent surgery, uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe cardiac conditions, hernias, glaucoma, pregnancy complications, or any condition where intense breathing or abdominal engagement is restricted.

Our sessions include low-impact options and “opt-out” cues. You can sit, reduce volume, or switch to gentle breathing at any time.

Science

Is there research evidence for laughter-based interventions?

There is growing research on simulated/intentional laughter, humor, and breathwork-like protocols. Outcomes often studied include stress markers, mood, pain perception, social bonding, and short-term anxiety reduction. Results vary by population and study design.

Our teaching is practical: we focus on safe techniques, measurable comfort cues, and consistency. We also provide suggestions for tracking your own outcomes (sleep, stress, mood).

Sessions

What happens in a typical session?

A session usually includes a quick check-in, warm-up breathing, light movement (optional), structured laughter exercises, and a calm cool-down. Intensity is adjustable: you can participate silently, seated, or at a low breath rate.

You’ll also learn a short “micro-practice” you can use between sessions (2–4 minutes).

How often should I practice to notice benefits?

Many learners notice short-term shifts (energy, mood) the same day. For more stable changes, we typically recommend 2–3 sessions per week plus a small daily “micro-practice.”

Consistency matters more than intensity. If you’re busy, aim for 3 minutes a day: gentle breathing + a short simulated laughter set.

Pricing

Do you offer refunds or rescheduling?

Yes. You can reschedule group sessions up to 24 hours before the start time (subject to availability). If you’re within the window, we’ll still try to find a fair solution—just contact support.

For self-paced products, refunds are available within 7 days if you’ve completed fewer than 25% of the modules (tracked locally only if you choose to).

Can you run laughter sessions for corporate teams?

Yes. We offer high-energy or low-key formats for teams, leadership cohorts, and remote groups. Sessions are designed to be inclusive (camera-optional, seated options, quieter variants) and appropriate for workplace settings.

Typical durations: 20, 45, or 60 minutes. We can include a short science-backed debrief and a repeatable micro-practice.

I’m neurodivergent / socially anxious. Is this format suitable?

Many learners prefer this approach because it provides structure. You can participate with camera off, keep audio low, or do quiet versions of the exercises. We never force performance or spontaneous humor.

If you’d like, tell the facilitator in advance via support message and we’ll suggest the lowest-pressure options.

Science

Are there side effects? Why do some people feel emotional afterward?

Mild soreness (like after light exercise), watery eyes, or temporary emotional release can happen—especially if you’ve been under stress. Laughter and breathwork engage the nervous system and can shift arousal states.

Our cool-down is designed to help you leave regulated and grounded. If you ever feel dizzy or overwhelmed, stop immediately, breathe normally, and switch to seated rest.

Do I need to turn on my camera or microphone?

No. Camera is optional, and you can participate with microphone muted. Many exercises are designed to work even if you only follow the breathing and facial movements.

If you want feedback from a facilitator, you can briefly enable camera for a check-in, then turn it off again.

Pricing

Do you offer sliding scale or student discounts?

For community cohorts, we reserve a limited number of reduced-fee seats each month. If cost is a barrier, use the support form and choose “Billing & access” as the topic.

For organizations, pricing is based on team size and session length; we can offer packages for multi-session programs.

What if I miss a class?

You can usually join another cohort session that week (space permitting). If the cohort is full, we’ll offer an alternative time or a short catch-up plan.

If you know in advance, message us and we’ll help you pick the best option based on your schedule.

Accessibility

What if I have hearing or mobility limitations?

Mobility: nearly everything can be done seated. Hearing: we can provide typed instructions and structured cues; if you use captions, our pacing supports that well.

Share your preference through support and we’ll suggest specific session formats that match your needs.
